Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green is “excited” about the uncertainty that the 2019-20 season brings.

For the first time in years, the Warriors aren't the favorites to win the championship after losing two-time Finals MVP Kevin Durant in free agency. It didn't help that shooting guard Klay Thompson tore his ACL in Game 6 of the 2019 NBA Finals and is expected to miss a big chunk of the upcoming campaign.

Green, however, is not backing down from the challenge and vowed to bring his best foot forward on a nightly basis in 2019-20.

“I'm excited to go into this season and not know we're gonna win the championship,” Green told Rachel Nichols of ESPN. “But know that no matter what, we're gonna compete like we can and possibly do it. I'm excited for that challenge. I'm excited for the challenge of Steph (Curry) being the oldest guy on the team and only me and Klay right after that in this severe age gap. And so a part of that is coming into the season in tip top shape and ready to go. I've been in the gym doing different workouts. It's been really good. And I've been excited to do that.

“Like, this is a different challenge. This is: Grab these young guys and teach them how to win, teach them what it means to be great. Teach them how to work — the things that you need to understand to win at the highest level. I'm looking forward to that challenge. And so, what Draymond Green will you see? A different one. Because the circumstances are different. But the method behind the madness always remains the same.”

The Warriors' projected starting lineup for next season is Stephen Curry, D'Angelo Russell, Alec Burks, Draymond Green and Willie Cauley-Stein. Head coach Steve Kerr said last month he's going to start Curry, Russell and Thompson together once Klay returns from his knee injury.

It's going to be interesting to see where the Warriors end up when the 2019-20 regular season ends. They likely won't be at the top of the West standings, but they should be able to lock up a playoff spot.

Once the postseason starts, no one is going to want to face the Dubs — especially if Thompson is back and fresh.
