Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green has already shown a knack for analysis both on Twitter and during his recent guest appearances on TNT's “Inside the NBA.”

In a series of Twitter posts on Saturday, the three-time champion explained his personal dissatisfaction with the state of basketball discourse and supported the thinking behind his recent analysis.

“I think it’s pretty funny that everyone thinks they know the game of basketball and in particular NBA basketball,” Green tweeted. “They happen to be two completely different things. Most people don’t know the game including some that write about it as well as some that talk about it for a living.”

Green specifically elaborated on a tweet he made about a game-winning three from Portland Trail Blazers guard Gary Trent Jr., only to see his analysis misinterpreted.

“The GWP I was referencing was the V back on the big once the guard got downhill and he had no way to recover. He then cracked back to the big and came up with the steal. Score 132-130 with under 2 minutes to go. That’s the play most people don’t see. Any1 can see the shot go in.”

Green ended his social media “session” with a simple message for the basketball community:

“If we are going to speak on this game, let’s make sure we are teaching the game. It’s a beautiful thing when handled correctly.”

Last week, Draymond Green made headlines for his words on Phoenix Suns All-Star Devin Booker—comments for which he was fined $50,000 for violating the league's tampering policy.

Still, the outspoken Green has shown promise as a TV analyst and will most likely be offered roles in that capacity whenever his playing career is over.
