With less than 10 seconds left in the game against the San Antonio Spurs on Monday, Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green committed a horrible blunder that eventually cost them the game. It has since garnered criticism.

Draymond Green himself had some choice words for it.

Per Nick Fridell on ESPN, Draymond Green called his blunder the “smartest dumb play in history.”

Below is the play in question which may be a candidate for Shaqtin' A Fool. From the looks of it, Draymond Green was expected to be fouled after catching the ball.

After all, it's a strategy used by NBA coaches to prevent the opposing team from even attempting to take a 3-pointer. The Spurs knew that the Warriors would be looking for Stephen Curry, not Draymond Green.

They did a good job at denying the ball and so the Warriors had no choice but to give it to Draymond Green. Then, it so happened that Green, guessing that the Spurs would foul him, jacked-up a shot from half-court. He hoped for a trip to the free-throw line for three attempts. But what he got instead was an entry to Shaqtin' A Fool.

It was an uncharacteristic error by Draymond Green. He's known to be one of the smartest guys in the league and has been the Warriors' main orchestrator and leader during their title run. But safe to say that in that possession, the Green known for his high-IQ plays was nowhere to be found.

The 105-100 loss marked the Warriors' second consecutive defeat. Their previous loss was another tough one to the Dallas Mavericks, 134-132. Golden State simply hasn't been able to find much consistency this season. This is partly because players such as Kelly Oubre can't perform at a steady level. There are too many ups and downs with this team, as opposed to performers who can carry over a given standard from one game to the next. Another part of the Dubs' struggles, however, lies in the kinds of mistake Draymond Green made in San Antonio.
