Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green will not be wearing a message on the back of his jersey, nor does he have the opportunity to speak about reform via Zoom calls.

After all, Green and the Warriors are out of the NBA restart — and out of the spotlight.

However, Green is doing what he can to call for social justice. The former Defensive Player of the Year told Mark Medina of USA TODAY it is imperative to remain active and vocal on matters of race and equality:

“I’ll continue to push these issues and stand behind those willing to fight for us as Black people that are being oppressed in so many different situations,” Green told USA TODAY Sports. “It’s important we continue to move forward and continue to stand up for what we believe in. We can’t stop now. The fight is just beginning. It’s far from over.”

Green is staying involved in a variety of ways. He has joined LeBron James' “More Than a Vote” initiative meant targeting Black voter suppression. Moreover, Green is going to be an analyst for TNT's upcoming show entitled “The Arena,” which will dive into issues such as COVID-19 and systemic racism.

The former Michigan State star is also pushing for change in the Bay Area. Green is actively asking members of the California state Assembly to vote against a “Dental Practice Act,” which he feels will exclude low-income families.

Green has never been afraid to speak his mind and talk some trash both on and off the floor.

But he is intent on using his voice to empower communities in need and raise awareness with respect to social justice issues.
