Golden State Warriors star Draymond Green is expected to return soon after spending some time in the COVID-19 health and safety protocols.

According to Anthony Slater of The Athletic, while it is unlikely for Green to be cleared for Saturday's game against the Utah Jazz, Steve Kerr hopes he would be ready when they return home on Monday to play the Miami Heat.

Draymond Green has missed just one game for the Warriors so far, during which they lost to the Denver Nuggets 89-86. Nonetheless, it would have been two games already had their Thursday showdown with the same team not been postponed.

For what it's worth, though, the postponement didn't sit well with Green. The Nuggets didn't have enough players to compete, which is why the NBA decided to reschedule it. Nonetheless, the Warriors forward argued they were also lacking manpower when they lost to Denver, but the NBA didn't reschedule it.

The veteran small-ball big man highlighted that they already have protocols and rules in place to avoid such instances, so postponing the game gives Denver a major advantage since it means they can play at full strength.

“How do you continue to cancel games when you’ve implemented rules to prevent this from happening? Is that not a competitive advantage for other teams? The guys we didn’t have due to the protocol list played no role in Tuesdays loss? Pick a side but don’t straddle the fence,” Green wrote.

The perceived double-standard aside, the Warriors can only be happy to know they'll get Green back soon as Klay Thompson nears his return as well. It's certainly brewing to be a great 2022 for the Dubs.
