Golden State Warriors All-Star Draymond Green raised some eyebrows this week with a poorly-worded question about the Toronto Raptors and the team's solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement.

The Raptors, the NBA's only Canadian franchise today, were spotted arriving in the league's bubble in Orlando aboard a bus with the message “Black Lives Matter” splashed across the side of the vehicle.

Interestingly, the Warriors forward asked Raptors president Masai Ujiri why and how did the team decide to support the cause even though they are from a different country.

“But you guys have on your bus ‘Black Lives Matter,' and as a Canadian team it doesn't directly impact your team because you're in an entirely different country. What made you guys take a stand?” Draymond Green asked on TNT's “The Arena.”

Obviously, as some people already did, Green's comments could be misinterpreted like he was saying the Black Lives Matter issue is only about Americans. However, it is pretty clear that his intention about the question is not bad, as it seems he just wanted to emphasize the global nature of the movement.

There's no doubt that Black Lives Matter activists are seeking real, institutional reform (or more) in the United States, but the struggle for equality and justice doesn't start and end within American borders.

For what it's worth, Draymond Green and the Warriors will not have the same platform as the 22 teams in the NBA restart to demonstrate values of equity and change.
