For the first time in six years, the NBA Finals will not feature Draymond Green and the Golden State Warriors.

The 2020 Finals will be the Los Angeles Lakers taking on the Miami Heat at Walt Disney World down in Orlando, Florida. Green, a three-time champion, will be watching the Finals on TV just like the rest of his Warriors teammates and will miss competing on the NBA's biggest stage.

However, in an interview with Marc Stein of the New York Times, Green admitted he doesn't miss playing basketball as the bubble games wind down.

“As a competitor, you always want to be there,” Draymond Green, the heart and soul of the Warriors, said.

“But when people ask me if I miss basketball right now, I tell them in a heartbeat, ‘No, I don’t.’ We’ve done it at the highest level that you can possibly do it for five straight years. What I do miss is competing at the absolute highest level. I will miss playing in the finals and knowing that every basketball player in the world is watching me play — performing on that stage.”

Green and the Warriors weren't invited to Walt Disney World for the bubble games since the Dubs had the worst record in the NBA before the 2019-20 season was suspended in March after Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert contracted COVID-19.

Warriors superstar point guard Stephen Curry appeared in only five games after breaking his hand in the fourth game of the season against the Phoenix Suns and All-Star shooting guard Klay Thompson sat out the entire campaign recovering from his ACL tear.

With Curry, Thompson and Green leading the way next season, though, the Warriors will be back in the playoffs. The three future Hall of Famers got the necessary rest they needed in 2019-20 after playing in five straight Finals and winning three rings.
