Draymond Green still can't believe he signed a $100 million contract extension with the Golden State Warriors.

Green agreed to the deal this summer, and he knows how blessed he is.

“There's been several points where I've sat back and said, ‘Wow, hey, I signed for $100 million.' Like, that's not your normal thing for a kid from Saginaw, Michigan,” Green told Rachel Nichols of ESPN. “Like, I'm still at a loss for words about it. I think it tells the story that no one has ever been willing to tell. You know, I think everyone wants to tell the story of, oh, like, Draymond's this hothead. He argued with Steve Kerr, argued with his teammates. He did this, he got suspended from the Finals, he got suspended for arguing with Kevin Durant.

“Everyone wants to tell that story, because that's the story that gets the most clicks and that's the cool thing to do.”

Draymond Green was a second round pick, and no one thought he was going to turn into an All-Star forward who would help the Warriors win three championships in five years.

The Michigan native worked hard and now has $100 million to show for it.

Green's journey in the NBA hasn't always been smooth, but the Warriors love Green and are excited to start this next chapter of their franchise with him as a main cog.
