The Golden State Warriors announced that they have suspended forward Draymond Green for Tuesday night's game against the Atlanta Hawks for “conduct detrimental to the team.”

The Warriors are making this move after reviewing the heated exchange between Green and Kevin Durant during Monday night's loss to the Los Angeles Clippers. Green reportedly made some nasty comments to Durant as the two were arguing after the failed final play of regulation, and the brash forward even challenged KD about his upcoming free agency. and Things spilled over into the locker room after the game. Durant was upset that Green didn't pass him the ball on the final play.

The spat between Green and Durant is definitely something to keep an eye on. November drama won't matter in May and June, but this has to be concerning for the Warriors. The rift between Durant and Green puts the organization in a tough spot. On one hand, Durant is the superior player and much more integral to their title hopes this season. But on the other hand, Green is a Warrior through 2020 and has been a part of the Golden State dynasty from the start.

There is definitely a growing belief that this is the last year for this Warriors team, and that hinges largely on Kevin Durant's decision next summer. It appears likely that Durant will leave the Warriors and seek another opportunity. It makes sense for financial reasons, and it could also help his legacy in the long run.

There's a very good chance that this altercation between Green and Durant is something we all forget about Golden State wins its third straight championship. That being said, the relationship between Green and Durant is something to monitor as the season progresses.
