Golden State Warriors big man Draymond Green is set to undergo an MRI on his left knee on Wednesday, ESPN’s Chris Haynes reports.

Green suffered a left knee strain as he was fouled while attempting a shot late in the third quarter of the Warriors’ 122-121 season-opening loss to the Houston Rockets. He went back to the locker room shortly after and did not return. He finished one point shy of a triple-double with nine points, 11 rebounds, and 13 assists.

The Warriors are already dealing with injuries early on in the season apart from Green. Sixth man Andre Iguodala missed the season opener with a back strain. Meanwhile, Omri Casspi aggravated his ankle injury during the game.

Potentially losing Green would easily be the most significant injury of the three, though. The reigning Defensive Player of the Year is the team’s foundation on defense, not to mention a reliable playmaker on offense.

In case the MRI results require Green to be sidelined for some time, the Warriors will likely need to lean more heavily on rookie Jordan Bell. The former Oregon Duck forward had a decent debut against Houston, scoring eight points in 12 minutes.

Kevon Looney, who played eight minutes, with six coming in the fourth quarter, could also see an increase in playing time.
