It's no secret that despite Stephen Curry's otherworldly greatness, Draymond Green remains as the throbbing motor of the Golden State Warriors. Just ask James Wiseman.

Not hearing Green talk is as impossible as Kyrie Irving accepting the COVID-19 vaccine. Green took it upon himself to mentor Wiseman during his rookie season with the Warriors last year. They've been seen numerous times chatting with each other even in the middle of games, with Green constantly urging Wiseman to assert himself more.

Well, it looks like Green's consistent yapping has paid off. According to Warriors coach Steve Kerr, the second-year center out of Memphis has started to embrace himself and show more of his personality (via NBC Sports Bay Area).

“He's doing really well, I think James is really kind of coming out of his shell. You can really see the maturity, he's speaking up in meetings, feels much more confident, I can see it, and then the drill work he is doing, he is really picking things up quickly.”

Wiseman, who's still recovering from a right knee injury, has tremendous upside. That's a fact. But during his first stint with the Warriors, there were times when he looked tentative, especially on offense. Perhaps the pressure of being the second overall pick and joining a team as celebrated as the Warriors affected him.

But as he's done with his other teammates, Draymond Green has been patient in helping out James Wiseman. The former Defensive Player of the Year has repeatedly praised his young teammate in past interviews, and that's not about to change anytime soon.
