Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr says power forward Draymond Green will miss “the next few games for sure” with a torn ligament in his left finger.

Green suffered the injury on Friday against the San Antonio Spurs:

The Warriors are 1-4 on the season. Star point guard Stephen Curry is out for the foreseeable future after undergoing surgery on his left hand.

Green is averaging 9.4 points, 7.8 rebounds and 5.2 assists through the Warriors’ first five games while shooting 42.9 percent from the field, 30.8 percent from beyond the arc and 70.0 percent from the free-throw line.

It looks like it’s going to be a long year for the Dubs. Gone are Kevin Durant, Andre Iguodala and Shaun Livingston. All-Star shooting guard Klay Thompson is going to miss a big chunk of the season recovering from his ACL tear. Even with a healthy Curry, Green and D'Angelo Russell, the Warriors were going to have a hard time making the playoffs.

Now that Curry is out for a few months and Russell and Green are banged up, the Warriors might as well just tank the season so they can get a nice draft pick. The Western Conference is too rugged for Golden State to overcome these injuries and make a playoff run.
