Golden State Warriors power forward Draymond Green won't play against the Utah Jazz on Friday, according to Anthony Slater of The Athletic.

Green played 40 minutes on Wednesday in the Warriors' overtime loss to the New York Knicks:

The Warriors are 5-21 on the season. They have the worst record in the NBA.

Golden State, after going to the NBA Finals five straight seasons, is not elite anymore. Superstar point guard Stephen Curry is out with a broken hand and All-Star shooting guard Klay Thompson is still rehabbing his ACL tear.

Kevin Durant, of course, is gone after signing with the Brooklyn Nets in free agency and Andre Iguodala was traded to the Memphis Grizzlies to create cap space for the Warriors to sign D'Angelo Russell, who like Green, has dealt with injuries this season.

It appears this season in Golden State is going to be about developing Eric Paschall, Jordan Poole and Ky Bowman. The Warriors are on their way to missing the playoffs for the first time in the Steve Kerr era.

Green has played in 17 games this season for the Warriors. He's averaging 9.1 points, 6.2 rebounds and 5.9 assists while shooting 40.9 percent from the field, 26.7 percent from beyond the arc and 72.1 percent from the free-throw line.
