Golden State Warriors guard Jordan Poole was not named as a finalist for the 2021-22 NBA Most Improve Player award. Draymond Green was not happy about it.

The Warriors star spoke at length about why Jordan Poole is the clear MIP this season and how it would be a disservice to what the award is meant to be if he doesn't win it.

“If Jordan Poole isn't the Most Improve Player, the NBA really needs to relook at their process. You cannot find a guy on that list who has made a bigger improvement,” Draymond said of his Warriors teammate.

Draymond Green also spoke at length about the other MIP award contenders such as Ja Morant and Darius Garland, both of which have been named as official finalists.

While they both earned All-Star nods this season, the Warriors star's argument hinges in the fact that they were both already pretty solid last season. They made a jump, but to Draymond it wasn't as big as Jordan Poole's leap that's made a substantial splash for Golden State this season.

“He was the 28th pick, not playing, and was in the G League a year ago to date almost. So if we're going off the name of the award, it's Jordan Poole. If it's not Jordan Poole, I'm starting a petition on Change.org to rename these awards. It's just not accurate.”

Jordan Poole is not going to win the MIP award this season. But his breakout year as an emerging star cannot be denied.
