Klay Thompson of the Golden State Warriors made his return on Sunday night and it was one of the best moments in NBA history. It was a long-awaited return as Klay has not played in two seasons. The basketball world and the Warriors very much missed him.

Draymond Green of the Warriors talked about how he and Thompson used to play pickup basketball almost every day during the offseason in the 2019-2020 season. Green had not gone to their usual pickup game because he was leaving for a family vacation and it so happened to be the day that Klay Thompson tore his Achilles.

Draymond had this to say about the guilt he felt for his Warriors teammate in an interview with The Undefeated,

“I had texted Klay 20 minutes before Bob Myers called just saying something like, ‘Yo, I’m going out of town with my [wife]. Let me know the next time you’re going to be there,’ ” Green told The Undefeated. “And then I get that call and I’m like, ‘Had I gone, would this have happened?’ I was just feeling a side of guilt and I was crushed. I just texted him, everything was fine and I was supposed to play basketball with him. It’s just not possible. …

It is an unfortunate thing that did happen but even if Draymond Green did happen to be there with Klay Thompson, the chances are that he could have still gotten injured and it's just an unfortunate part of life that does happen. They're both back together on the Warriors and they're going to look to win another NBA championship.
