Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green has been dealing with a calf injury of late. The injury has forced the 31-year-old to miss the Warriors' past three games, and he's set to make it four consecutive absences on Sunday. Well, the Warriors provided an update on their injured star, and it seems fans will have to wait a while longer before the fan-favorite makes his return to the hardwood. According to Shams Charania, Green's calf injury is tied to a disc in his lower back. The Warriors star will be re-evaluated in two weeks as he works towards recovery.

Including Sunday night's game, Green has missed eight of the Warriors' past 13 games. With Green not expected to return within the next two weeks, he'll miss key games against the likes of the Utah Jazz, Dallas Mavericks, and Brooklyn Nets, among others.

The Warriors have struggled lately, losing five of their last nine games. They still hold the No. 2 seed in the Western Conference, though they've slipped behind the Phoenix Suns who are now 2.0 games ahead of them.

Steve Kerr addressed Green's injury, via Anthony Slater, stating that the Warriors were exercising caution with their star forward. While Green is a crucial member of the Warriors' rotation, the team is opting to play it safe with the star defender, rather than rush him back amid their cold streak.

On the year, Green has averaged 7.9 points, 7.6 rebounds, and 7.4 assists per game. He's shooting a career-high 53.7% from the field and is hitting at a 28.6% clip from 3-point range, his best rate since 2018.
