The Chase Center has issued an official warning to Golden State Warriors fans about the risks of entering the arena due to the coronavirus outbreak.

The Athletic's Tim Kawakami took a photo of the sign at the entrance of the Chase Center:

There is definitely a lot of risk right now in watching NBA games live. Cases of the COVID-19 in North America have not been as widespread compared to that of other regions around the world, but being in an in-door stadium with thousands of other people carries a lot of risk in potentially catching the contagious disease.

The NBA also recently circulated a memo to all 30 teams about the possibility of playing games without fans. Several players reacted to the news, including Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James who said that he does not want to play in an empty arena.

Several other live sporting events, concerts, and in-door activities with a huge crowd have already cancelled or postponed their schedules. In fact, the widespread disease could also cause a cancellation of the upcoming Tokyo Olympics this summer.

This is definitely a situation worth monitoring for the entire league, as it could potentially have massive financial implications moving forward. The NBA earns a major chunk of their revenue from fans who watch the games live.

Warriors superstar Stephen Curry, who just returned to the floor after missing 58 games this season, sat out Saturday night's contest against the Philadelphia 76ers due to the seasonal flu.

The Warriors immediately ruled out any specific risk factors related to the COVID-19 for the two-time league MVP. Nonetheless, Golden State did not seem to have any problems on Saturday night, as they defeated the slumping Sixers at home, 118-114.
