Golden State Warriors rookie Eric Paschall says he watches film of Los Angeles Clippers superstar Kawhi Leonard to learn how to draw fouls.

Paschall, who has been one of the biggest surprises of the season with the Warriors, is averaging 4.6 free-throw attempts per game.

“Kawhi is really good just because he’s very strong, and he can get a foul called a lot of times,” Paschall said, via the Mercury News. “So, I try to look at somebody like him. Just how he uses his strength, uses his shoulders, and how good he is at creating the contact without it being too much. That’s one thing I try to do, too.”

The Warriors have the worst record in the NBA, but Paschall has been playing very well. He's putting up 17.3 points, 5.5 rebounds and 1.8 assists while shooting 50.7 percent from the field, 31.5 percent from beyond the arc and 81.4 percent from the free-throw line.

This season in Golden State is going to be about developing Paschall, Jordan Poole and Ky Bowman. The Warriors, after going to the NBA Finals five straight seasons, are not elite anymore. Stephen Curry is out with a broken hand and Klay Thompson is still rehabbing his ACL tear. Kevin Durant, of course, is gone after signing with the Brooklyn Nets.

In a down season, it's nice that the Warriors have Paschall's upside to look forward to.
