An anonymous Western Conference executive believes Golden State Warriors center DeMarcus Cousins’ Achilles and quad injury may cost him up to $150 million, according to Ken Berger of Bleacher Report.

Before he tore his Achilles last season with the New Orleans Pelicans, Cousins was averaging 25.2 points and 12.9 rebounds. He was well on his way to getting a max contract from the Pelicans.

After he tore his Achilles and didn't get any offers from teams once free agency started, Boogie had to sign a one-year, $5.3 million deal with the Warriors.

This season, the plan all along was for Cousins to win a ring with the Warriors and play good in the playoffs so he could get a lucrative contract this summer. The quad injury Cousins suffered in Game 2 against the Los Angeles Clippers is going to prevent him from getting that big money deal.

“It's going to be an enormous loss for him,” a Western Conference executive told Bleacher Report. “He might end up in a situation where these injuries cost him $150 million. It'll have a profound impact.”

You have to feel bad for Cousins. That's two seasons in a row he's suffered a major injury heading into free agency.

It's very possible Boogie might have to re-sign with the Warriors again on a cheap deal.
