Gary Payton II had the time of his life on Monday as the Golden State Warriors took to the streets of San Francisco to show off their new championship hardware to Dub Nation. Before the parade, Payton promised to pay homage to the great JR Smith by going shirtless throughout the festivities. The Warriors stud did not disappoint.

Payton went full shirtless during the parade as he gave some love to Warriors fans in attendance (h/t Kendra Andrews of ESPN):

Apparently, Payton was fully committed to his JR Smith tribute throughout the parade. He also did his interviews without a shirt. It didn't even look like the Warriors swingman brought a shirt with him:

The mood was understandably festive throughout the parade and Payton soaked in all the fun. This is the first championship of his career and you can't deny that the man now deserves to reap all the benefits of his hard work — be it with or without a shirt on.

In his heyday, JR Smith's shirt was missing for a couple of days after the Cleveland Cavaliers won the title in 2016. Let's just hope that Payton finds his shirt much sooner than Smith did a few years ago.
