The Golden State Warriors have been absolutely decimated by injuries over the course of the last two seasons, though the heralded Western Conference franchise continues to receive encouraging news regarding superstar shooting guard Klay Thompson.

According to Warriors head coach Steve Kerr, Thompson recently reached a “milestone” by having his walking boot removed from the equation.

Although it remains to be seen as to what will come next in Thompson's rehabilitation process, shedding his walking boot is no doubt a step in the right direction as he looks to return to the court sooner rather than later. Even so, there is virtually no chance that Thompson returns to the Warriors at any point during the ongoing 2020-21 campaign.

Prior to eliminating the presence of his walking boot, the 31-year-old Thompson began his latest progress by traveling with his Warriors teammates just last week. Such an occurrence marked the first time that Thompson was able to travel with the team this season.

The veteran sharpshooter infamously suffered a torn ACL in his left knee during the 2019 NBA Finals against the eventual champions Toronto Raptors. Thompson was then forced to the sideline for the second consecutive season after tearing his right Achilles tendon ahead of the 2020-21 campaign.

In addition to missing Klay Thompson last season, the Warriors were also without both point guard Stephen Curry and power forward Draymond Green at various points in the year, which caused Golden State to miss out on the postseason after five consecutive Western Conference titles. Even without Thompson this time around, the Dubs are back in the mix in the Westas things will only get better for Golden State once the roster fully regains its health.
