The Golden State Warriors have officially clinched a playoff spot, and with that hurdle out of the way, they are now looking to take every opportunity to rest some of their key players for the remainder of the regular season.

Steve Kerr and his staff will look into such idea on Sunday night when they go up against the Detroit Pistons.

The Warriors are gunning for their third straight title, and a major injury to some of their key players could hurt their chances of achieving that goal. With that said, they are being extra careful to avoid such possibility.

Steve Kerr has already started resting players. In their game against the Mavs, the team sidelined Stephen Curry, Andrew Bogut and Shaun Livingston.

Another player that could be rested by the Dubs against the Pistons is DeMarcus Cousins, who has been showing signs of fatigue as of late. He has just returned from an Achilles injury two months ago, and it's obvious in some stretches that he looks tired. He also suffered a minor ankle injury a couple of weeks ago, so expect the team to be extra cautious about his health moving forward.

Kevin Durant, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green and Andre Iguodala could also find themselves sitting out a couple of games before the playoffs begin.
