The Golden State Warriors are scheduled to play five preseason games ahead of the 2019-20 season, four of which will be against the Los Angeles Lakers:

The Warriors will open the preseason against the Lakers on Oct. 5, when they will host their first-ever NBA game at their new arena, the Chase Center. They will then host the Minnesota Timberwolves on Oct. 10 before hitting the road to face the Purple and Gold at Staples Center on Oct. 14 and 16.

Their preseason will conclude against the Lakers on Oct. 18.

The Warriors will be facing two members of their team last season, as former All-Star DeMarcus Cousins and point guard Quinn Cook joined the Lakers this summer. LA will also see former lottery pick D'Angelo Russell play with two-time MVP Stephen Curry.

Aside from Cousins and Cook, the Warriors lost several players from their 2017 and 2018 championship teams, as Kevin Durant is on the Brooklyn Nets, Andre Iguodala has been shipped to the Memphis Grizzlies, Shaun Livingston has been waived, and Jordan Bell went to Minnesota.

As for the Lakers, they will also be a completely different team when they face the Warriors. Their once celebrated young core is gone, and they have been replaced by savvy veterans who will look to provide support for LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and Kyle Kuzma.

Both teams will be looking to make a statement next season. The Warriors are out to prove they're still one of the best teams in the league, while the Lakers will try to reach the NBA Finals for the first time since 2010.
