Following the end of the NBA's moratorium — marking the end of the previous season and the beginning of the next calendar year — the Golden State Warriors have finalized their trade with the Memphis Grizzlies, which will send veteran wing Andre Iguodala to Grind City.

The framework of the trade will be 15-year veteran Iguodala, a future first-round pick, and $2 million in cash considerations to the Grizzlies in exchange for guard Julian Washburn, who's on a two-way contract, Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium reports.

The Warriors have announced the move:

The Warriors needed to execute the salary dump-off of the three-time champion and former Finals MVP Iguodala and his contract — due to earn upwards of $17 million in the 2019-20 season — in order to accommodate the max contract of guard D'Angelo Russell, who Golden State acquired in a sign-and-trade with the Brooklyn Nets.

Washburn is a 27-year-old undrafted wing at 6-foot-8 who appeared in 18 games for the Grizzlies this past season.

Iguodala spent the last six seasons with the Warriors after one year with the Denver Nuggets in 2012-13 and an eight-year stint with the Philadelphia 76ers, who drafted Iggy with the ninth overall pick in the first round of the 2004 NBA Draft.

Iguodala averaged 7.3 points, 3.9 rebounds, 3.4 assists, and 1.1 steals per game in 413 appearances for the Warriors, shooting 48.5% from the floor, 34.2% from 3, and 63.4% from the free throw line. He was an important player for the then-unproven Warriors core consisting of Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green in securing the franchise's first title in 40 years in 2015, when he won Finals MVP having to defend Cleveland Cavaliers star LeBron James.

The 35-year-old Iguodala will now commence the next stage in his career. The Grizzlies are expected to try to flip Iguodala elsewhere.
