The Golden State Warriors added yet another scorer to their system. According to Chris Haynes of ESPN, the Warriors have signed former Louisville Cardinals star – and soon-to-be brother-in-law of Stephen CurryDamion Lee to a two-way contract.

Lee, who is engaged to Sydel Curry, sister of the two-time NBA MVP, was among the undrafted players back in the 2016 NBA Draft. After spending much of last year playing for the Santa Cruz Warriors, Lee realized his dreams of playing in the NBA when he appeared in 15 games, including 11 starts, for the Atlanta Hawks. Lee did not seem to help Atlanta’s tanking process that much, as he capitalized on his brief time in the big league, averaging 10.7 points and 4.7 rebounds per game. He also showed he’s capable of being a decent defender, as evidenced by his 1.3 steals per game number during his short stint in Atlanta.

Damion Lee could have been drafted two years ago if only he was given the chance to boost his NBA stock in the 2016 NCAA National Tournament. The Cardinals were among the strongest teams in the nation that season, but Louisville’s self-imposed ban took away the chance for Lee and teammate Trey Lewis to see action in March Madness. Both Lee and Lewis transferred to Louisville as seniors with the hope that they could see action in the NCAA tourney.

In one season in Louisville, Lee averaged 15.9 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 1.5 steals in 30 games. He has a maximum of 45 days to spend in Golden State under the rules that guide two-way deals.
