Warriors to start Draymond Green at point guard vs. Pelicans
Due to the series of injuries to most of their key players, the Golden State Warriors will have to make the best out of what they have.
The Dubs currently have nine healthy players on their roster, but they don’t have enough guards. With that said, Steve Kerr and Co. reportedly plan to start two-time All-Star Draymond Green at point guard in their game against the New Orleans Pelicans.
I’m hearing the Warriors are going to start Draymond Green at point guard today in New Orleans. Gives the Warriors a taller, like-sized, switchy group to open game: Draymond, Glenn Robinson, Alec Burks, Eric Paschall, Willie Cauley-Stein.

Green is an athletic forward who can pad the stats sheet with his scoring, rebounding and passing, so it makes sense for the Warriors to start him at the one.
Golden State is already without Klay Thomposon, Stephen Curry and D’Angelo Russell, who are all injured, so Dray will have to carry this team moving forward.
The Warriors are currently the worst team in the Western Conference with a 2-11 record, but they will have an opportunity to get a much-needed win against the Pelicans, who are also riddled with injuries. Brandon Ingram, Lonzo Ball and Josh Hart will not be playing.
Green is averaging 9.1 points, 6.9 rebounds and 4.9 assists this season. The Warriors will need him to produce more if they want to come out with a win against the Pels.
With what’s happening with the Warriors this season, people tend to forget that they were once a dynasty. They are coming off a streak of five straight NBA Finals appearances, and while they are unlikely to extend that this campaign, they could also land a potential cornerstone player with one of the top picks in the 2020 draft.
