Free-agent guard Isaiah Thomas is working out with the Golden State Warriors this week and there are no doubts in his mind that he can be the same player of the past.

Speaking to Marc Spears of The Undefeated, IT made a very bold claim:

That's certainly good news as he eyes an NBA return with the Warriors. It's not exactly a surprise that he feels that way, though. The way Thomas has been balling out in Pro-Am games is a prime example. The former Celtics star dropped 81 points in a game this summer and was scoring from everywhere on the floor.

The Warriors could definitely use some more depth in their backcourt, with options rather limited past Steph Curry. If Thomas can play like he once did with the Celtics, it's going to be a huge addition for Golden State.

IT last played in the NBA with the New Orleans Pelicans, but he featured in just three games in 2020-21. His best campaign to date came back in 2016-17, averaging a ridiculous 28.9 points for Boston en route to being named an All-Star.

Aside from Thomas, the Warriors are also working out former Heat and Lakers veteran Avery Bradley, who actually played alongside IT in Boston. It will be interesting to see if Golden State ultimately gives Isaiah Thomas a chance to fulfill his NBA dreams once again.
