ESPN's Jalen Rose didn't agree with the way Charles Barkley handled his comments on Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green during the airing of Game 2 against the New Orleans Pelicans on Tuesday.

Barkley expressed his desire to punch Green in the face, to which the Warriors star responded shortly after.

Rose discussed his issues with Barkley's words during his morning show Get Up!

“As a member of the media, our job is to analyze, not antagonize,” said Rose. “Players can get upset at me about things that I say about their performance or things they do on a professional level, but I'm not talking about violence as it relates to them playing basketball. When you do that, I think you're taking it a little bit too far.”

While Barkley has a different set of rules and that is what makes him an entertainer as well as an analyst, this is only one of many times in which he's gone off the cuff to make remarks about a player.

His disdain for the Warriors has been well journaled over time, doubting their chances at a championship as well as hating the new era of jump-shooting teams — yet according to Rose, his comments took it over the edge.

“When we're talking about what we see in basketball, when I talk about fighting you, that makes it personal,” Rose explained. “When I saw this live, I was like ‘he doesn't like him'”

“There are people in the NBA that I don't like, but you can't tell when I'm talking about them in television.”

Co-panelist Michelle Beadle argued that Barkley wasn't a conventional journalist, rather an entertainer, and he can't be held to the same standards.

Green and Barkley have gone back-and-forth throughout the years, but this could yet be one of the most controversial statements made by the latter, which could cross the line between sensational and unprofessional.
