Golden State Warriors rookie James Wiseman and second-year forward Eric Paschall will once again be under NBA health and safety protocols, per Shams Charania of The Athletic.

This development means the two will have to miss the Warriors' game against the Houston Rockets.

It  is a considerable setback for Golden State as their frontcourt depth will be depleted. Juan Toscano-Anderson, who is built like a wing, will most likely see time at the five with both James Wiseman and Eric Paschall out.

Wiseman, who is the second overall pick in the 2020 NBA draft, has not been living up to expectations. This is made worse when you consider the player drafted before him, Minnesota Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards, has been slowly stringing together a series of  great performances. The third overall pick, Charlotte Hornet playmaker LaMelo Ball, is also the favorite to win Rookie of the Year.

To be fair to Wiseman, he was unable to build his rhythm due to a number of  issues, especially a wrist injury that forced him to miss several games earlier in the season. He just returned  late inn February, but it's obvious the rust was there–which certainly didn't bode well in his development.

While the Warriors want to develop Wiseman, they need to balance it out with winning games. The Dubs have not had a true center since Andrew Bogut, which made the selection of Wiseman intriguing. Wiseman has shown flashes of potential, but they have just been that: flashes.

At 19 years old, he has time on his side and hopefully, he can figure out how to maximize his physical tools and be an impactful player.
