James Wiseman has turned more than a few heads in what has been an impressive rookie campaign for the Golden State Warriors. As it turns out, one of the personalities he has backing him in his corner is Los Angeles Lakers great Mychal Thompson, the father of Dubs star Klay Thompson. According to Mychal, he's already seeing glimpses of the great David Robinson in the 19-year-old.

Thompson has taken notice of Wiseman's impressive play over the first half of the season. He's been so impressed that Thomspon believes a comparison to the San Antonio Spurs legend is in order:

“I played against David Robinson, and he reminds me of a young David Robinson,” Thompson said, via Katie Woo of NBC Sports. “Athletic, fast, good hands, good touch. He’s going to be a star in this league for many, many years.”

That's quite a compliment considering how Robinson is considered as one of the greatest centers of all time.

Thompson did not stop there, though. He went on to explain why he believes Wiseman is bound for greatness:

“[Wiseman] is going to be fine,” Thompson added. “He’s only 19. You can see he has a high basketball IQ. He’s willing to be coached, not only be Steve Kerr but by Draymond [Green], Steph [Curry] Klay, the veterans on the team. He obviously has a lot of talent.

“The Warriors got a good one in James Wiseman because he’s willing to just absorb all the knowledge. He’s very mature for his age, and to go along with his skills, I think he’s going to be a multiple time All-Star.”

Based on what we've seen from the Warriors' second overall pick of the 2020 NBA Draft, multiple All-Star berths certainly do not seem to be beyond Wiseman. If he continues on the same track, he could actually be an all-time great.
