Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr still has no clear idea when his rookie center James Wiseman could be back on the floor following the season-ending meniscus surgery on his right knee.

Per the Athletic's Anthony Slater, Kerr doubled down on his earlier sentiments, in which he claimed that the Warriors will have a look at where he's at physically after five months. For now, the multi-titled tactician just wants the 20-year-old to focus on his healing and not think about basketball for the time being.

“We said we would make a statement in September, have an update in September. At this point it's just indefinite and we'll see how he responds.”

Here's Kerr's full interview about his prized rookie's status on the Warriors.

Wiseman's rather forgettable rookie season has officially come to an end, much to the disappointment of Kerr and the rest of the Dubs Nation. While he certainly had his moments with the Warriors, the 7-foot-1 slotman was unable to keep himself healthy enough to make an impact.

The former University of Memphis standout played in just a total of 39 games for the Warriors, averaging 11.5 points and 5.8 rebounds while shooting 51.9 percent from the field. Wiseman is the second high-profile rookie to suffer a major injury this season, as ROY frontrunner LaMelo Ball fractured his wrist last March. But unlike the Dubs' big man, Ball could return for the Charlotte Hornets just in time for the playoffs.

Wiseman's first season in the pros is certainly a huge learning experience for him with the Warriors. Despite his physical tools, it's clear he still has a long way to go to become an impact player for Golden State. Steve Kerr, however, understands his true potential and wishes him a speedy recovery.
