Jimmer Fredette will no longer play for the Golden State Warriors in the 2019 NBA Summer League.

Fredette informed the Warriors of his decision to leave the team on Tuesday after playing just two games in the California Classic League, per Mark Medina of The Mercury News. In two games for the Warriors summer league team, he posted 9.5 points in 20.5 minutes per game.

The Warriors were clearly focused on developing rookies Jordan Poole and Eric Paschall, but Fredette's decision is reportedly not linked to his role or playing time. According to Medina, Fredette made the decision after reportedly receiving several offers overseas.

Warriors summer league coach Aaron Miles was surprised by Fredette's decision. Miles added that he strongly believes that the former BYU star still has a lot of game left in him.

“He still can play,” Miles said of Fredette. “I think he should still play. I should say this – I think he should do whatever he feels is best for him and his family.”

Fredette spent two years in the Chinese Basketball Association, where he started for the Shanghai Sharks. He returned to the NBA late last season after signing a deal with the Phoenix Suns. In six games with the Suns, Fredette posted 3.7 points and 1.2 rebounds in 10.8 minutes per game.
