Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry is without a doubt the greatest shooter that basketball has ever seen thus far. But NBA veteran JJ Redick certainly was no slouch, either.

Redick is closely associated with the three-point shot ever since his early days at Duke. That's why in a response to a Twitter question on the worst coaching advice he's ever received, his response was about someone telling him not to take them.

“Don’t shoot transition 3s….that’s my f$cking layup,” said Redick on Twitter.

One fan responded to Redick's tweet, claiming that Stephen Curry paved the way for him with the three-point revolution he brought in with the Warriors. JJ Redick wasn't exactly in agreement.

JJ Redick is four years Stephen Curry's senior. While that may not seem too significant, JJ Redick was arguably the greatest three-point shooter in recent NCAA history. He graduated from Duke holding the record for most made threes in NCAA history for his career with 457 total.

If anything, it was JJ Redick who helped make the three-point heavy offense more acceptable in the college ranks just as Stephen Curry was making a name for himself at Davidson. Before he ever hit a three for the Warriors, Curry nailed 414 in college for just a few shy of Redick's legendary mark.

He did this, however, in just three seasons and holds the least number of games played among the Top 25 career three-point shooting list in the NCAA. It's no surprise that he now holds the record for most threes made in NBA history. But let's put some respect on JJ Redick's name, too.
