The Golden State Warriors are the 2022 NBA Finals champions. From locker room champagne showers to a huge parade, the team has had a great time celebrating the victory. However, according to Joe Lacob, the Dubs' success and corresponding pay raises could spell trouble for the franchise.

The Warriors owner joined “The TK Show” and discussed the financial problem that the team will face in the next few years.

“I’m already in trouble with the rest of the league. We are in trouble for being where we are,” Lacob said (transcription courtesy of NBC Sports). The Warriors are “in trouble” for dipping into the luxury tax, but they aren't the only ones.

“In fact, in Vegas, I’ll be at – we’re going to be at – the Board of Governors meeting Tuesday. Let me tell you, they’re not happy. It’s not just us. Other teams are going into the luxury tax now, as well. We kind of blew a hole in the system, and it’s not a good look from the league’s perspective. They don’t want to see it happen. And there are limits. I’m not going to say what they are. But there are limits on what you can do.”

According to Spotrac, only the Los Angeles Clippers beat the Warriors for the lowest luxury tax space. The Clippers are $41,685,857 in the hole, and the Warriors aren't far behind them at $-35,444,047. In total, ten NBA teams are in the red for luxury-tax space.
