Golden State Warriors owner Joe Lacob admits he still doesn't understand why Kevin Durant left the Dubs for the Brooklyn Nets in free agency.

Lacob will never say anything bad about Durant since KD brought the Warriors two more titles. However, he thinks the two-time Finals MVP made a mistake by leaving the Warriors:

“I can't get mad when Kevin Durant, who I felt pretty close with, decides he's going to leave. Which to me, made no sense,” Lacob said Monday morning on 95.7 The Game. “You're (with) the best organization, I hope he thinks, in the world.

“Winning, other great players, the new arena. To me, there was every reason in the world to stay. But I'm not gonna be mad at him because it's his life and he earned the right. And for whatever reason, he decided he wanted to leave. I can't control that. I tried (laughing).”

Durant has admitted a few times that the Draymond Green incident from last season was just one reason why he decided to leave the Warriors.

To recall, Green started calling Durant “a bi**h” during an overtime game between the Warriors and Los Angeles Clippers at Staples Center. Green, who questioned KD about his upcoming free agency, said the Dubs already won without him and dared the two-time Finals MVP to leave in the offseason — all while a game was still going on.

The words Green said to Durant were indeed too harsh, especially considering the Warriors were playing in a game against the Clippers.

Durant won’t play this season for the Nets, while Green and the Warriors are on their way to missing the playoffs for the first time in the Steve Kerr era.
