After drafting Stephen Curry (2009), Klay Thompson (2011), and Draymond Green (2012) while signing Kevin Durant (2016), the Golden State Warriors have given themselves a chance to be the NBA's next dynasty. With two championships in three consecutive NBA Finals appearances, the Warriors are looking to extend that streak.

Unlike previous seasons, the Warriors have dealt with major injuries as they currently trail the Houston Rockets by three games for the league's best record during the 2017-18 NBA season. As the top priority is getting healthy, owner Joe Lacob discussed the team's long-term plans with Mark Medina of San Jose Mercury News:

“We’ll build around that core until we decide maybe we shouldn’t. But right now it feels pretty good,” Lacob said. “These guys are all performing at a great level. We love them as part of our organization. I don’t really see doing anything major. But you never really know. We have to evaluate when the season is over. It’s very hard when you’re in the middle of it all to see it objectively.”

In addition, Lacob shares the Warriors may consider making a big move over continuity according to Medina:

“Maybe we will emphasize continuity. Or maybe we will make a big move,” Lacob said. “We’re looking at different options, given different things playing out in different ways. I think you should always be doing that.”

With four All-Star players in the prime years of their careers, the Warriors should be championship contenders for many years to come. While Klay Thompson is set to become an unrestricted free agent following the 2018-19 season, he has already expressed interest in re-signing with Golden State.

As the Warriors have looked at the San Antonio Spurs' model of excellence, it will be interesting to see how they approach their long-term goals. Although continuity is an important aspect, Golden State has previously been linked with Anthony Davis if they want to make a major move.
