With near perfect trash talk and Twitter games, Joel Embiid is one of the fiercest competitors in the NBA. However, it appears he alright with the competition being a little friendly at times. As the Philadelphia 76ers and Golden State Warriors prepare to faceoff on Thursday night, Embiid was spotted dining out with Stephen Curry Wednesday evening, with the two catching dinner at Ayesha Curry’s restaurant in the bay area.

Last season, Golden State took home the season series against the 76ers, besting them in both of their November meetings.

Stephen Curry was a big part of his team getting the best of Philly last season, too. In those two games, Curry averaged 28.5 points, 7.0 assists, and 4.5 rebounds, and was a +23.5 on the floor overall.

Joel Embiid will assuredly be looking for a big game against the defending champs, as he wasn’t as dominate when facing them previously. In their two meetings last season, Embiid averaged 16.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 2.5 assists and was a -15.5 when on the floor.

The faceoff between the two teams will be their first meeting this season. With the Sixers having just gained a half game lead on Indiana for the third seed and the Warriors just a smidge ahead of Denver to top the West, both Embiid and Curry will be looking to secure a meaningful win for their squads.

With DeMarcus Cousins on the roster, this will be the first time that Embiid has had to face a Warriors team with a legitimate big man down low, but that should stop him, as he is putting up career numbers this season along with stellar play. One thing is for sure, though- if Philly wins, Embiid already has the tweet ready to go.
