When you are a rookie in the NBA, there are new responsibilities that come with the title. Golden State Warriors rookie Jonathan Kuminga just exposed one of his new responsibilities.

After losing a game to the Minnesota Timberwolves on Sunday, Kuminga was seen holding a game board. It prompted a reporter to ask Kuminga if he prefers to play chess or checkers. The response Kuminga gave was surprising and hilarious.

“I don't play neither of those games. I just got to do rookie duty and carried that for Klay (Thompson),” Kuminga told ClutchPoints.

This was after the second consecutive strong outing by Kuminga. The Warriors youngster scored 25 points in a blowout win over the Chicago Bulls on Friday and then 19 points in Sunday's loss to the Minnesota.

Even though the rookie has played some good ball the last two games, Thompson wasn't letting the rookie slide on his rookie duties. Responsibilities are important and you have to take care of them before doing anything fun. That applies in the real world and for star players in the NBA.

The Warriors lost to the Timberwolves by 20 points, 119-99. The Dubs were without two of their stars, Stephen Curry and Draymond Green, and Klay Thompson is still trying to find his groove in his return.

Meanwhile, the Warriors are heading back to the Bay Area, and on Tuesday they will face No. 1 pick Cade Cunningham and the Detroit Pistons. It will be the first game of a seven-game home stand.
