There’s not a sweeter experience in the NBA for a player than winning a championship. Golden State Warriors forward Jordan Bell will agree to that, though he is now facing a bitter test.

Bell recently took to Twitter and issued a challenge to himself, pledging that he will not consume anything that has sugar in it for an entire month.

It’s not an easy challenge to accomplish, especially for someone like Jordan Bell, who is a young multi-millionaire with plenty of free time this offseason. But instead of burning time, it’s the calories that Bell obviously wants to torch, as he starts to plot his preparations for the upcoming 2018-19 season.

Let it also be known that Bell isn’t a pioneer when it comes to Golden State players shunning glucose. Some years back, former Warriors center Andrew Bogut revealed that he managed to sport a leaner frame by ditching sugar.

Per Monte Pool of NBC Sports:

“I changed my diet a little bit,” he said. “It’s really worked wonders for me.

“I watched that documentary,” Bogut added. “It’s unbelievable, man. (Sugar) is in absolutely everything. I have a couple friends that are label readers. I used to give them so much (crap), telling them, ‘Man, just eat it. Stop reading the label.’ And now I’m one of those guys.”

Bell appeared in 57 games last in his rookie year and averaged 4.6 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 1.0 block in limited minutes.

No word yet if Bell will also stop consuming alcohol.
