The Golden State Warriors may need to play shorthanded on Thursday when they go up against the L.A. Clippers. Despite already being able to practice, rookie forward Jordan Bell is unlikely to see action on the night, according to Monte Poole of NBC Sports Bay Area.

The 23-year-old has been dealing with inflammation on his left ankle and was slated to be reevaluated earlier this month to determine when he can return to action. However, his recovery has suffered a delay and he continues to nurse it, and no definite timetable has been given yet on when he can play for the Dubs once again. Bell sustained the injury during their game at United Center in Chicago back in January 17th, and he has remained on the shelf since.

If there's any good news for Bell, the ankle is not broken and he just needs to continue resting it before he can resume all basketball-related activities, including ankle strengthening exercises. Even with his limited minutes this season, he has been a spark of the bench for the defending champions, as he has given them a lot of energy and hustle, as well versatility with his ability play and defend multiple positions.

In the 38 games he's played in this season, Bell is averaging decent numbers of 5.2 points, 3.9 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.1 blocks in 14.4 minutes per game. He has earned his spot in the rotation of head coach Steve Kerr and should regain it once he's healthy again and prove that he deserves the trust given to him.
