The Golden State Warriors feature a star-studded roster. Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green have all played on the NBA's biggest stage and have plenty of accolades to their names. But part of what makes Golden State such a difficult team to matchup against is their immense depth. Jordan Poole would be one of the best players on most other teams. But he is the 6th man for Golden State.

However, he knows when it's his time to shine.

Poole was asked about his starring role in “non-Steph” minutes following the Warriors Game 2 victory over the Mavs.

“Just continue to be aggressive,” Poole replied in response to his mindset when leading the Warriors second unit. “When Steph comes off the floor, the defense tends to focus on me a little bit more so continue to be aggressive. And not only try to make plays for my teammates but try to look for more shots. Just keep my rhythm going. Whenever me and Steph play together obviously play off that, but, the coach is giving me the keys and my teammates trust me to put them in easy situations to score and to make plays. Go out there and just be aggressive.”

Jordan Poole mentioned being “aggressive” three times in his response. He isn't looking to stand in the corner and wait for a teammate to find him when Steph Curry is on the bench. Poole understands he needs to step up and dictate the pace for Golden State's second unit. It isn't a selfish thing. It's a leadership thing.

Steph Curry is the face of the Warriors franchise and played well in Game 2. But Jordan Poole is an emerging star who is vital to Golden State's success.
