Golden State Warriors forward Kelly Oubre has a bit of a hot take on the whole GOAT debate, and it's not going to make fans of LeBron James happy.

In a recent appearance on The Complex Sports Podcast, Oubre explained why he firmly believes that there are no players from this generation (read: LeBron) that deserve to be in the GOAT conversation:

Oubre is one of a few players actually playing today that agree to the notion that the game in this day and age is undeniably soft compared to previous decades. As such, he has a pretty strong take on the GOAT debate:

“This game today is a little bit more soft. To call anybody a GOAT is disrespectful to… the hard-earned award Mike and Kobe have won.”

Fair point from Kelly here. We're pretty sure this statement will be met with much criticism, though, especially from the Los Angeles Lakers faithful. LeBron is considered by more than a few as the GOAT (or at least the GOAT of this generation), and Oubre's shade-throwing here could be considered as slander against The King.

Oubre isn't the only one who has played down LeBron's GOAT credentials of late, though. None other than James' BFF in Dwyane Wade also recently said that in his mind, MJ is always going to be the GOAT. D-Wade put his friendship with ‘Bron aside for a little bit as he shared his honest take on the whole GOAT debate.

I wonder, though: what would Oubre's thoughts be on people saying that his own Warriors teammate, Stephen Curry, is the GOAT shooter?
