Kevin Durant made the most out of his multi-hour interview in The Bill Simmons Podcast, taking the first step at making amends and apologizing to Hall of Famer James Worthy for previously condemning him to be a two-faced individual.

The Golden State Warriors forward previously met the Los Angeles Lakers legend during his first game of the 2016-17 NBA preseason, an experience that turned out differently than he had expected, receiving sound advice from the old pro.

“He was like, ‘Man. Don’t worry about that stuff. People change jobs every single year, every single day. Don’t worry about that. Just go out there and keep working and go win.’ So I’m like, ‘Man that’s nice.’,” Durant told Simmons during an interview last year.

Later that night, Durant was told by a friend that he had been saying completely the opposite behind his back.

“So I came back home that night and my boy Randy — I was like, ‘Man. James Worthy was cool. He showed me so much love. I appreciate that,’” Durant said. “He (Randy) was like, ‘Huh? He was talking so bad about you on TV. He was saying Magic wouldn’t have done that. I wouldn’t have done that…’

“Yo, stop selling out. Stop selling your brothers out. This is a fraternity. Stop selling us out… stop doing that man, and then come in my face talking that nonsense. I was really fooled with him.”

This time around, Durant admitted there was a mix-up, and he was misinformed about the situation and offered his sincere apologies to the man known as “Big Game James” (per Harrison Faigen of Silver Screen And Roll)

Simmons: “We solved that.”

Durant: “I’m sorry, James, that was a big mix-up.”

Simmons: “Oh we’re apologizing to James Worthy now?”

Durant: “Yeah, that’s my boy.”

Durant faced criticism left and right as soon as he made the move to the Bay Area and was likely flooded with his inner circle telling him about who said what about his decision.

Worthy has been known as a gentleman and an excellent friend, whether it was the likes of Michael Jordan through his North Carolina days or Magic Johnson and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar during the Showtime era.

Now with the situation cleared up and apologies being made in public and private, hopefully, it won't be long until Worthy attends another of Durant's games in this upcoming season.
