Golden State Warriors star small forward Kevin Durant says he doesn't know much about this calf injury other than it's worse than the previous calf injuries he's suffered in his career.

The Warriors said Durant sustained a right calf strain. It's widely believed to be a Grade 2 strain since Durant is still not able to do on-court work.

Durant was averaging 34.2 points, 5.2 rebounds and 4.9 assists in the 2019 playoffs before he got hurt in Game 5 of the second round versus the Houston Rockets. The two-time Finals MVP was shooting 51.3 percent from the field, 41.6 percent from beyond the arc and 90.1 percent from the free-throw line. The Warriors can't wait for KD to get back.

Golden State has gone 5-0 since Durant went down. Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green have all picked up the load on offense. The NBA Finals begin on May 30. Durant is expected to miss Games 1 and 2 on the road. The Warriors are hoping KD will be back for Game 3 at Oracle Arena.

When Durant initially suffered the injury, everyone thought the former league MVP tore his Achilles. Members of the Dubs organization counted their blessings when the MRI revealed it was a calf strain and not an Achilles tear.
