After playing shorthanded against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday, the Golden State Warriors could be back to full strength in their next game. Kevin Durant expects to return to action for the team on Saturday when they host the Philadelphia 76ers at Oracle Arena.

The reigning Finals MVP missed his first game of the season against the Minnesota Timberwolves as he suffered a left thigh contusion. At this stage of the regular season, the Dubs are understandably taking a cautious approach to the health of their star forward, as they know it is going to be a long campaign.

The good news for them is they didn’t need his services on the night, as the Warriors blew out the Wolves, 125-101, with Klay Thompson and Stephen Curry leading the way in scoring with 28 and 22 points, respectively. More importantly, they were able to extend their current winning streak to five games and improved their record to 9-3.

Through 11 games, Durant is once again averaging impressive numbers of 24.8 points, 7.7 rebounds, 5.0 assists and a career-high 2.5 blocks per game. Once he returns, Andre Iguodala, who got the start in place of Durant, will move back to the bench and play his usual role for the Dubs once again.
