Kevin Durant believes LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers are getting more attention than the Golden State Warriors because they are a “sexier story.”

James signed a four-year deal with the Lakers in July. The best player in the NBA is now in the biggest media market, so there will be plenty of interest in the Lakers this season. Los Angeles also signed Rajon Rondo, Lance Stephenson, Michael Beasley and JaVale McGee. As a result, the Lakers are garnering a lot of hype.

Kevin Durant and the Warriors have won back-to-back championships. The club signed All-Star big man DeMarcus Cousins to a one-year deal this offseason, sending shockwaves throughout the league. Any other summer, Golden State would have won all the headlines, but not this time around. With James taking his talents to arguably the most iconic franchise in NBA history, the Lakers are this year's team to watch.

The Warriors are the clear favorites to win the 2019 championship. Maybe a healthy Boston Celtics team led by Kyrie Irving and Gordon Hayward can give Golden State problems should the two teams meet in the Finals. But other than Boston, there doesn't appear to be a team in the league that can dethrone the Warriors. The casual NBA fan won't have much interest in watching Golden State because they have become such a juggernaut.

All basketball fans, however, will be paying attention to James and the Lakers. Everyone wants to see if James can bring the Lakers back to prominence.
