Kevin Durant isn’t counting on LeBron James joining Warriors
The charismatic host asked the two-time champion the one pressing question in fans’ minds, but the once-again Finals MVP wasn’t buying it.
Kimmel: “If LeBron wanted to come to the Warriors, would you be excited about that?”
Durant: “I just don’t think that will happen.”
While prior reports indicate that James would “listen” to teams over the offseason, the sheer amount of roster deconstruction to fit James into this team would be of massive effect, likely shipping out the likes of Draymond Green to make room for him.
A late regular season report by ESPN’s Chris Haynes indicated James would give audience to the Warriors in the summer, a rumor which he later turned down. More recently, Haynes’ colleague Stephen A. Smith said Golden State was among the seven teams James would speak to, including the Los Angeles Lakers, Philadelphia 76ers, Houston Rockets, Boston Celtics, Oklahoma City Thunder, and the hometown Cleveland Cavaliers.
The Decision Part III is bound to be just as entertaining as the first iteration back in 2010, but Durant remains convinced the two won’t be joining forces anytime soon.
