Golden State Warriors shooting guard Nick Young was inactive on Thursday at home against the Dallas Mavericks due to a concussion. According to Kevin Durant, however, Young seemed to have spent the days he’s been sidelined gorging, jokingly saying that Young packed some extra pounds of late, per Mark Medina of The Mercury News.

“He looked pretty bad to me. He looked like he gained a few pounds over his little couple of days of break he had. But his hair looks nice.”

We don’t blame Young if he really did add some pounds. It’s the holiday season after all.

Young suffered the injury during last Monday’s 111-104 home win over the Portland Trail Blazers, forcing him to miss the Mavs contest. Nevertheless, the Warriors didn’t need his help to defeat Dallas, 112-97, to sustain their eight-game win streak, thanks in large part to Durant, who pumped in a game-high 36 points to go along with 11 rebounds and seven assists.

Young has a minimal role for the Warriors, which meant his absence wasn’t at all felt by the team. Still, he helps the Warriors maintain a fiery and potent offense during all stages of the game. Young is averaging 6.8 points on 13.1 minutes per game, while shooting 45.7 percent from the floor.

Young still has time to fully recover before the Warriors’ next game, which is on Monday on the road against the Los Angeles Lakers.
