Golden State Warriors star small forward Kevin Durant is reportedly not close to returning from his right calf injury, according to Ramona Shelburne of ESPN.

Durant suffered the injury in Game 5 against the Houston Rockets:

Golden State Warriors forward Kevin Durant will have his injured right calf re-evaluated before Game 2 of the Western Conference finals but is “not close” to returning to action, a league source told ESPN's Ramona Shelburne.

Durant hasn't resumed basketball related activities yet, which would be the first step in returning to action.

The Warriors are up 1-0 on the Portland Trail Blazers in the Western Conference Finals. Game 2 is on Thursday.

Durant has been a machine in the playoffs. The two-time Finals MVP is averaging 34.2 points, 5.2 rebounds and 4.9 assists per game while shooting an efficient 51.3 percent from the floor, 41.6 percent from beyond the arc and 90.1 percent from the free-throw line.

The Warriors can probably beat the Blazers in the WCF without Durant. However, the Dubs are going to need KD to win the NBA Finals against the Milwaukee Bucks or Toronto Raptors. Golden State is trying to win its third straight title and fourth ring in five years.
