Christmas Day brought an onslaught of embarrassment for the Golden State Warriors, who were stampeded by the Los Angeles Lakers, who managed to survive a third-quarter run to throttle the Dubs by 26 points in their own home floor. Kevin Durant wasn't happy with the team's play, often allowing wide-open looks and uncontested baskets at the rim while looking shellshocked on offense, shooting a whisker under 40 percent for the game.

“We’ve definitely been inconsistent with our play,” Durant said, according to Connor LeTourneau of The San Francisco Chronicle. “We can definitely be better communicating on defense, moving without the basketball and just being aggressive to score a little bit more than we are.”

The Warriors were led by an unexpected offensive cog in Andre Iguodala, whose 23 points marked a personal season-high, as well as a game-high, even outscoring the struggling Durant.

Golden State squandered an undefeated record (17-0) when Iguodala scores 20 or more, losing for the first time despite the welcome contributions.

Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson were a mere shadow of themselves, combining for 20 points in the game, shooting a woeful 7-of-24 between them.

“We got to get better, and we know that,” Curry said. “We are not going to win a championship playing like we did tonight.”

The Warriors have now surrendered 20-plus-point home losses to the Milwaukee Bucks (23), the Oklahoma City Thunder (28), the Toronto Raptors (20) and the Lakers (26) — the most in Steve Kerr's tenure with the team.
